One of the reasons vibration is underestimated in distribution is the damages from vibration often look like shock damages or compression damages. Here are two typical problems.
The product – once again a cabinet with a plate mounted with components – is moved up and down in vibrations. The plate with the mass from the components has its own frequency. If the vibration outside has the same frequency the plate will work as an amplifier storing the energy. Many small movements can release damages at exactly the same spot, as shock damages will occur.
