- You first make only one design proposal for your packaging as near as possible to the critical area. Such a design proposal can be done either by engineering calculation or after the best experiences from earlier designs.
- Then you re-design the packaging system using different amounts of packaging materials in the area around the area you believe to be optimal.
- All your designs are tested at the same time. Some will be approved and other will fail.
- The design with minimal use of packaging materials and still approved by the test defined in legislation, can be accepted as the optimal packaging.
